Every London borough is like a small city, with wealth and poverty existing side by side, and issues from every corner of the world reflected in the people who live there.

In the East, the skyscrapers of Canary Wharf and the apartments of 'condo canyon' overlook some of the poorest housing estates in Britain. Almost every major British bank has migrated here over the past decade, but unemployment remains among the highest in the country.

Meanwhile, for centuries, migrants from the developing world and war-torn states have built new lives across Newham and Tower Hamlets. My parents were among many Asian immigrants who moved to Upton Park in the 1970s, helping to turn Green Street into the vibrant
place it is today.

The poet Benjamin Zephaniah, who lives in East London, has written about Green Street:'Upon this street the world can dine Here wonders can be seen And those of us who live here shine
For everything is green' If you have a story, or an issue that you think you should be explored, I would like to know. I have been a journalist in print and broadcasting in London and abroad, and an anti-racism campaigner, for many years. As a video journalist, I film and edit my own aterial and I would like to see more people do the same – everyone has a story to tell!
